Pelican – Metal Sculpture

The artist Derald Swineford would often spend hours just observing the behavior of wildlife before creating sculptures of their likeness. When he first saw pelicans dropping into the ocean, he thought something was wrong with them, their descent and subsequent crashing into the waters being so violent. He quickly discovered this was just their way of catching fish and watched as these bulky creatures performed graceful maneuvers along the coastline and captured this individual dipping its wings into the ocean in metal sculpture.
